Dear Reader I’ve made this a short read this time because I want to share a link to a longer read about: A New Way of Viewing GratitudeA few days ago, I came across an e-book in a folder on my computer. The book is called The Astonishing Power of Gratitude. The author, Wes Hopper, has given permission to share it freely. The only restrictions he has placed on that sharing are that “you may not sell it, or modify it in any way”. I really enjoyed reading his book. Gratitude is something I’ve cherished all my life and yet there are things in here that have made me realise just how powerful an Attitude of Gratitude can be. Towards the end of the book, he challenges the reader to do a two part exercise. My whole attitude to things that irk me has changed through doing this simple exercise. I’d love to know what you think. Part one is to: Take a sheet of paper and fill the paper with things you are grateful for. Make sure you have at least 25 – 30 items and that you have a few items from every area of your life. Include your finances, health, career, relationships, toys, recreation and anything else you can think of.
Then he says to “stop right here and do this before you go on”. He knows me so well! I stopped reading and did that part of the exercise and I’m challenging you to do the same. Done that? Now, if you are curious to see Part two, you can download the book and read it for yourself.
